Thursday Morning, September 21
We’re extending through the September 2018, transforming 4,000 sq.ft. at The Shops at Atlas Park into an art studio/printmaking workshop for kids (and their adults).
This weekday session is very much the same as our weekend workshops starting with open studio, working on a few large-scale projects using printmaking techniques as well as drawing & painting.
Each child will learn about the wonderful art of printmaking and will create their own plate to be inked-up and printed on our (kid friendly) printing press. Parents, Grandparents and Care-takers are also welcome, and encouraged, to participate in the process. We hope to create a fun and inspiring space for children to learn this beautiful process.
If our workshop is a success, our plan is to set up a permanent workshop/studio for kids to take classes in printmaking and bookmaking. Please share this with anyone you feel might be interested in
- What’s the Age Group? This initial workshop is best for ages 2-18, though toddlers are welcome as long as parents are willing to get messy and actively participate.
- What Should they Wear? Smocks will be available, though definitely wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy. All inks/paints will be water-based and non-toxic.
- What Do We Get to Keep? Each child will create a few prints, which will need to dry. Parents can pick up at a later date, or take with you. We will also have Our Custom Sketchbooks on display for ordering.

Collaborative Art & Printmaking
If you have no idea what printmaking is, here are a few pics that have inspired us to put this workshop together. Printmaking is a beautiful process that celebrates the “happy accidents” and children love to work with different tools to create something new. We hope you will join us for this special workshop. We are finalizing the full schedule of events for March, please check back with us for more details.
We hope to see you there.
